Learn how to fly

One of my favorite quilt, it's one of my first work. After several attempt of making the perfect flying geese blocks, I made this quilt. It had 270 of 6"x3" flying geese blocks, arranged in 9 rows with 3" sashing and border. The measurement is 84"x96". I hand quilted before I properly learn the 'how to'. The quilt motif for sashing I made myself, just a simple continuous heart made from cardboard. My fingers bled, obviously, haven't known about thimble back on those days. But there's no stopping when you're fired up LOL! And the finished hand quilt was not bad at all, if I may say so....^_^. Finished it in around 2 months, and just love it!. Now, although some of the fabric already worn out but it still give me enormous satisfaction when I put it on the bed for a clean look in the room.

Sew Simple Quilt

One of my first project, around nine years ago. I saw this book cover on a free brochure from www.keepsakesquilting.com and decided to try it! I didn't know the real measurement so I figured my own. The finished block size 5.5" square (but I think now, maybe it's 6" square? maybe I 'eat' the seam allowances ? ^_^). It was 9 x 13 rows and the finished size 67"x92". I machined quilt it and what a lesson I've got! My seam reaper done a lot of hardwork repeatedly reaped it open because the backing always wrinkled like an old man's face. Lesson learned! My sewing machine cannot handle thick layers.....LOL! But it's finished anyway, and I love it! Now it belong to my son....
