My mom is the first person that introduced me to patchwork years ago.
She gave me second hand patchwork tools and books that I cherish and still use today, a battered cutting mat that double as iron mat on the other side, a very used and chipped quilter's ruler, the 6"x24" of course, and an old rotary cutter.
Mat and cutter I still use but the ruler, sadly, been sat upon by my hubby, broke in two. Still keep it though.. :)
When she gave me a copy of Bethany Reynolds 'Stack-n-Whack' book, I was thrilled and excited.
This kaleidoscope quilt is one of many that I made out of Bethany's book.
Sometimes when I'm stuck and overwhelmed by so many project choices that today's quilting world has to offer, I just go back to this familiar technique that I love and made one.
I kept a 'sizeable' supplies of fabrics required for this, of course I do, big and bright motifs, a spectacular design or two :)
It's kinda reassuring to know that I can just open the book and make another beautiful quilt.
