My earliest collection are, as I said, from my mom, second-hand books n mags.
I just love flipping thru' the pages, reading, making notes and planning of making one of those projects.
Those times my 2 kids were still small, so making baby and kid's quilts are on my top list.
Whenever I went to fabric stores, always looking for cute prints or bright colors or cartoon characters.
Choosing fabrics for these projects are always fun too. I tend to choose soft colors for baby quilts (typical), and bright for kids quilts. Sometimes, I just followed the pattern instructions without altering it, sometimes I adjust the size, change the placement, or when ideas' struck me, I made up new pattern all together.
These six photos are examples of what I have made, I made quite a few actually, sometimes I documented it, other times I didn't.
I love the one with dog and blue ball applique, cute addition to the Irish Chain background.
But my favorite is the one with Disney characters, it was my son's and now handed down to my daughter. She's almost 16 and refuse to give it up, battered, torn and all.
Funny watching her sleep under that quilt, curling up as she's too big now.
I have made another for her but she sleep 'on' it, not under it... *go figure :)
